One of the biggest part of the background of revolt of Hong Kong is extradi-

tion act. Hong Kong government wanted to prepare some punishments which can
be executed in the nation where people commited a crime. The reason why extra-

dition act emerged was a Hong Kong couple. Hong Kong couple Chan Tong Kai and
Pun Hiu Wing went to the Taiwan for the trip, and Pun Hiu wing was killed by her boy

friend, Chan Tong Kai. However, the crime happens in Taiwan, so Hong Kong cannot
be indicted him. It is a serious problem and he should be punished, but Hong Kong

cannot do something. In the opportunity of this incident, Hong Kong government
would like to give a penalty through extradition act. Conversely, the people of Hong

Kong was so worried about China and disagree about this idea. They think that Chi-
na may take people to be framed.

As the controversy grew, Hong Kong government said that they will not apply
extradition act about politics and religion. In addition, this law will apply about more

than seven years of serious crime, and final summons are decided by Hong Kong

government. Though, the part of citizen was worried is China can get too much
inference. The reason why citizens don’t believe China is Hong Kong won the right
to vote under the Hong Kong Return Agreement between Britain and China, but it

is not actually reflected. And, in China’s opinion, the administration minister will be

chosen, and the current administration minister, Carrie Lam, is also a pro-China fig-
ure.

My opinion is Hong Kong government should institute extradition act. If it is
not allowed, people cannot punish and make lots of an unjust person. I understand

why people opposed, however, if the crime is larger, citizens cannot live in their
country anymore. Hong Kong government should concentrate on the purpose of

extradition act, no China’s opinion.
