The Ciliary Movement and Maturation on the Ciliated Cell
with Endometriosis

Endometriosis (EMS) is estrogen-dependent disorder defined by presence and growth of endometrial tissue outside
the uterus, causing pelvic pain and infertility. The main cause of endometriosis is not fully understood, the most
accepted theory is retrograde menstruation that caused by back-flow of menstrual blood and uterine tissues into
pelvic cavity through the fallopian tube. Fallopian tube, connects the uterus and the ovaries, has a monolayer of
epithelium which consists of two major cell types with ciliated cell and secretory cell. Cilia of ciliated cells in fallopian
tube are motile cilia and play role in transport of embryos and gametes. Un-maturation of ciliated cells is one of
the causes the endometriosis because they could not prevent back-flow of menstrual blood and uterine tissues. In
this study, we investigated the correlation of between the endometriosis and ciliary movement/maturation of ciliated
