We have selected ‘reckless development’ as a theme for our poster. First of all, let’s watch the video, related to our poster. What comes up in your mind after watching this video? It frankly describes how cruel the
human can be to the animals and the Earth. Humans skin the alive animals and make their leathers into bags or clothes, just for satisfying the human’s vanity. It results in the extinction of animals and imbalance of ecosystems. We humans cut down the trees and destroy woods in the name of enjoying sports like golf. All of sudden, one third of Amazon, which is called the Lung of the Planet, has been destroyed and the dense forests have turned into the empty plains. Man acts like a conqueror of the Earth. However, if this situation continues, we would eventually reach the road of
self-destruction. Just like the man sitting on a huge pile of garbage from the video. Let me expand the contents conferring to the video. The development threatens the animals and environment, but they danger the human ultimately too. However, development directly affects humans as well. In other words, it generates social problems, getting humans to lose their human rights. For example, there is a harm caused by redevelopment. When an area is designated to be a redevelopment block, the residents living there lose their dwelling. They are compensated with the risks, however, it can’t
contribute to solving the realistic problems, increasing the rate of poverty in housing. Corresponding to this, society will develop more to hide the existence of poverty. The development for humans, is cornering humans into the paradoxical situation in actuality. Imprudent development is not only repeating the vicious circle of the ecosystem, but also of human society. We have put environmental and social problems, which the senseless development has brought about into our poster. This splendid building is a symbol of ‘development’. The outside is extravagant, but the inside of it, namely the
reality is featuring the damaged humans. The first picture is a picture of inhabitants opposing redevelopment, as their living foundation was designated as a redevelopment area. The second and third picture shows the terrible sight of deforestation. The last picture is telling us the harm of animals, who suffer from the environmental destruction. These kinds of problems are occuring in a real-life situation. By the way, those neglected and selfish hands of humans just cover such problems with the glamor and temporary wealth that the development occurs. Why do humans build the building
competitively? Or...what are they hiding? The more we conceal the social problems, the bigger the risks would be. The secretion backfires someday, and it would be unable for us to recover the harm. Therefore, we must beforehand strive for the health of the Earth. - 3 - I am disABLED - 4 - 권시온(2), 안채원(17) All human beings are equal. This statement has already become cliché. But think about it. How do we consider disabled people? Don’t you have ever treated them unfairly or even excluded them absolutely from consideration? It is little wonder that people should not focus on the disability of
someone, as people should not focus on gender, age, race, and the religion of someone. Highlighting the disability of somebody is the violence that non-disabled people have committed towards disabled people. We should break away from the passive attitude and outdated values that emphasize consideration and equality for disabled people. Also, we should treat them as talents with unlimited potential. The world must form a society that disabled people are not underestimated simply because they have disabilities. The numerous disabled people of the world can develop their abilities and values if
we make genuine change. Who is wrong, in other words, who needs to alter is the non-disabled people, not the disabled people. We may have been too obsessed with the word ‘disabled.’ The word ‘able’ is hidden in the sord ‘disabled.’ If you escape from the prejudice of the word ‘disability’ and look at them, they are invaluable and competent individuals. It is just a fact that we can see by erasing a few letters. Something truly meaningful is the ‘ability’ they have. Just as various people do not look the same, disabled people are one of the members of the whole society. The non-disabled people
have stressed only their disabilities excluding their possibilities. They have new abilities that we have not known. In fact, we have not tried to know those. Now, remove just three letters, and remove the real barrier in front of them we made. 참고영상 :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o0lt0KFhUek - 5 - Only Easy to USE - 6 - 김대근(3) Last dozen centuries, we have been able to make money by purchasing products. Until just 100 years ago, there was no concept of today's "recycling." But we've made waste because we're living together and we're constantly working on production, but it’s a smaller drop
in the pocket than we are now. The raw material of plastic was invented in about 1870. In the 1930s, plastic was used to make things. We are gradually expanding our use to make containers for food. As the scope of use has expanded, the number of plastic wastes has increased. What's different from the old days is that things that use plastic can't be decomposed, and because they can't be decomposed, environmental pollution becomes serious. The purpose of using plastic is to be simple to transport, strong, and cheap, so it is used a lot. In particular, the cheap price makes it easy to throw away
and neglect the waste disposal process. So, as consumers today, I think that we should focus not on consumption, but on the impact that will occur in the future, and I made the poster like this. The more serious the problem is, the more intuitive the advertisement should be. If you look at the poster, the plastic is simply stacked. There are two reasons. The first reason is that it's cheaper to make new plastics than to recycle them, and the second reason is that they don't wash and discharge them. If it stacks like that, it causes continuous environmental pollution, and environmental
pollution is not just a problem. In the past, 200 years ago, sewage was mainly waste. When the sewage was not handled smoothly, the sewage contaminated the groundwater and spread many diseases. At that time, sewage, the waste, is decomposable, but the seriousness of today's waste, plastic, is increased because it does not decompose well. That is why we need to make plastic waste easy to recycle by removing labels and washing them. - 7 - Chain, to Cut Off - 8 - 김세경(5), 이산(19) According to unicef, 80% of 18 year olds think that children and adolescents are in danger of being sexually abused or
taken advantage of online. According to American SPCC (Spill, Prevention, Control and Countermeasure), in 80.1% of cases, parents are the abuser. And this kind of violence is handed down. The problem is greatly severe, but there is little policy that can protect the victims. 40,000 children in South Korea are exposed to domestic violence, and 90% of them become domestic assailants again, when they grow up. It is a task that the society must be in charge. In this poster, there are three people and a child at the bottom and behind them is a chain. It symbolizes that domestic violence is passed
down. It is said that children who have once experienced violence in their family tend to shape the wrong image for parenting, which results in the abused becoming violent adults like their parents. When they have a child, most of them resemble their parents. We should not regard the domestic violence as a matter of individuals’ personality or tendency. Several factors such as the social perception for violence and unfair structure in a society might contribute to causing domestic violence. Therefore we ourselves have to take responsibilities and support for eliminating domestic violence which
may be now happening somewhere all over the world. This is why we titled 'cut the chain' to the poster to cut the domestic violence passing on and to live as many children as possible in healthy and safe conditions. We don’t know how long the chain is. If we don’t cut it now, we don’t know how longer it will grow. The governments have to provide the facilities that victims can easily go to and get counselling. Schools have to educate the students of the severity of domestic violence and they have to report it immediately, if they are the victims. Domestic violence is handed down from
generation to generation like the chain. We can cut the chain. We must cut the chain. 참고영상 :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G0RKotz0FwI - 9 - Novel and Identical - 10 - 김원(7) Orientalism means the illusion of the East created by the West. Orientalism existed since ancient times, when ancient Europeans saw newspapers like Asian carts and said there were mysteries in the eastern country. However, Europeans who developed through the industrial revolution since the advent of imperialism looked uncivilly at Asians who did not yet use chemical technology. Rather than carefully analyzing the elements
of Asian life, Westerners concluded that it was a mysterious and uncivilized culture. Orientalism is a vestige of racism, or imperialism. That's why it shouldn't exist. Do you know the song YELLOW of LIM KIM? It is a song that clearly reveals Western fantasies about the East. Just by looking at the costumes and the background patterns, it seems like something has been done, but we can't tell which country's culture it brought. If you look at "It's not your physical tape, our style lookin' so kawaii" and "Untamed as wild state, I'll never bow to you (Bang)" you can see that the lyrics are also
made up of sentences that make you cry to Westerners who still th
