KITCHEN NEWS
Hot and cold
Think beyond plain stainless steel: coloured cookers add vibrancy
to kitchen spaces. Everhot’s series of range cookers come in a
variety of shades, including this deep cool cobalt. The dinky
60 model warms a kitchen using electricity (or, if your home is
particularly eco-friendly, renewable energy). Look into its grill and
induction hob options, along with traditional hotplates, to cook
up a storm, as well as heat your home. . www.everhot.co.uk

INTERRUPTIONS
Clutter-free, contemporary kitchen spaces
call for minimal cabinetry and Pronorm’s
handleless Y-line design certainly fits
the bill. Its near-invisible recessed grips
lend the kitchen a smooth, sculptural
aesthetic, and its choice of neutral
colourways, such as Black/Brown Pine
or Arctic, aim to showcase and highlight
this, rather than detract from it. Made
from lacquered laminate, the cabinets are
easily maintained, and help to reflect light
around the room. POA. www.ekco.co.uk
Kingham come
Traditional cabinetmaker Charlie Kingham and his firm work
from Marylebone, hand-crafting bespoke freestanding and
integrated pieces of furniture for kitchens, studies, bedrooms,
libraries and bathrooms. The kitchen opposite is constructed
from a tulip hardwood frame, and deals with very specific
problems: the ladder, complete with its own container, allows
the owners to make the most of the room’s high ceilings and
easily reach items stored in the top cabinets, along with the
books from the built-in bookcase. Its hand-painted finish is
a light Farrow & Ball shade (Pavilion Gray) and the granite
worktop is made by Blanco.
