KITCHEN NEWS
From field to fork
That Wilstone’s Garden Kitchen was an RHS Product
of the Year finalist is unsurprising – the piece is as
innovative as it is striking. The kitchen, constructed
from recycled Indian teak, has a limestone worktop,
hand-carved sink and copper tap, and is built to be used
outdoors (although, if you’d rather keep it inside, we
wouldn’t blame you). Low maintenance and ready to use
as soon as a garden hose is attached, all you need now is a
party. . www.wilstone.com
Two minds
Contemporary kitchen specialist deVOL has collaborated
with designer Sebastian Cox on a new kitchen,
showcasing the duo’s love of wood. True to form, a
combination of sawn timbers and woven panels have
been used in the cabinetry, giving doors a raw, rustic
appearance, enhanced by simple thumbholes in place of
door knobs. POA www.devolkitchens.co.uk
Generation next
If Mary Berry’s return to the small screen has you all fired up, make sure you’re
prepared to bake along using Miele’s latest oven, the Generation 6000 PureLine.
The hefty 76-litre oven is operated by a series of touch controls, which manage
11 different cooking functions (including a setting called Intensive Bake) and uses
Moisture Plus, a feature targeted at proving dough. For the less experienced, there
are also automatic programmes and a wireless food probe, to check if cakes are
cooked all the way through. Get set – bake! From . www.miele.co.uk
BLACK
SWAN
Rangemaster’s
core collection of
swan-neck taps is
growing steadily.
The latest is the
raven-hued Aquatrend
model, which comes in
single or double lever, pull out or spring
designs, to tackle any kind of task, whether
washing large pans on an island unit or
rinsing vegetables. The tap is also available
in a chrome, brushed or black finish,
designed to match the brand’s range of
stainless-steel, composite and fire-clay
ceramic sinks. Decisions, decisions.
