LIVING ROOMS TO LOVE
Look book | Essentials | Style ideas | Expert advice
IN THE BEGINNING
you need to consider who is going to be using the room – is
it adults and kids together, kids during the day, adults at
night, adults only? This will help decide what sort of media
you want in the room. Is it only TV or do you need access
for video games etc? Plan your wiring to accommodate this
and also think about wiring lamps to a mains switch rather p
than going round turning them all on separately.
You also need to decide what style you’re going for – is
it a more formal space for entertaining or is it a chilled out
space in which to relax. This will help you decide on the
kind of seating you’d like and also whether you want to
incorporate any existing furniture you have.
A living room can be an incredibly versatile space and
a little thought before you start can eliminate expensive
mistakes. Kirsten Robeson, Cameron Interiors
