The title was launched in the fashion house’s Edinburgh store on
Multrees Walk, where special guests, industry insiders and the Balmoral
team, who looked after the illustrator while he spent time researching
and capturing Edinburgh, welcomed Floc’h and the new publication.
The artist himself signed copies and treated guests to a witty speech,
quipping that “Tartan and tweed are my favourite things about Scotland”.
While flipping through the colourful pages and poring over Floc’h’s
drawings of Edinburgh’s most famous spots, from the castle grounds to
the Grassmarket (the book also, incidentally, features plenty of sartorial
references to tartan and tweed), and mentally shopping for the totes on
display (and plotting where to take them), guests were served Ruinart Director of the Institut
Français d’Ecosse in
