Won Pyo Hong visualizes his worldview through “Barabapa,” his signature character known
for its simple outline. Hong’s section of the exhibition is filled with carefree, impromptu drawings
of Barabapa, which was born from the artist’s desire for everyone’s life to “be full of festivals.”
Barabapa’s stories express the emotions that we feel at certain moments in life and revive
precious memories. Hong hopes that, through his creations, visitors are able to find small but
invaluable pieces of joy in their daily routines and think about the ways in which they express
their emotions.
