The rapid spread of covid-19, which started in China, has led to
pandemic. And, this has led to severe discrimination against Asian, especially in
Western countries. There are cases of verbal abuse and, even worse, cases of severe
assault. The fact is that not all Asians are infected with the virus, but they are
discriminated under the mask of Corona virus. We made this poster with a title of ‘my
ethnicity is not a virus’ to convey the meaning that the public should help Asians, also,
pay attention to discrimination against Asians.
The title ‘my ethnicity is not a virus’ on the poster means that Asians are
not viruses, which also means that Asians should not be treated as viruses. It tells us that
Asian ethnicity should be respected and protected. The person on the poster appears to
have been discriminated against and assaulted because of the spread to COVID-19. In
fact, there are some people who are physically assaulted. On the other hand, the wounds
on the face can mean the wounds in the heart not only a trace of physical violence.
In this video, Asians are treated as viruses and assaulted just because they
are Asians. As you can see, western people blindly attack those who have yellow color
skin, the Asians. It is definitely illegal and inhuman violence committed with no regard
to the victims’ nationality. All the offenders have in mind in doing the attack is that the
virus gives pain to them and it originates from orient nations, especially China. However,
it is wrong to do physical harm to people without identifying their ethnicity and the fact
that their nations are adjacent to the birthplace of virus cannot justify the violence.
