This video shows that we, humans, have been killing a lot of birds. Even at
this moment, Birds that we commonly see are suffering from the transparent
soundproof walls.

According to the Ministry of Environment, more than 8 million birds die in
Korea due to the transparent window. Some people might think it is not a big
issue from their point of view. They think that it is easy to solve if birds don't
fly towards the wall. However, for birds that recognize windows as empty
spaces, transparent soundproof walls are the bane of their lives. It is difficult
for most birds to identify the object which is in front of them because most
birds have eyes on both sides of the face. Eventually, most of the small,
thin-boned birds end up dead. The world is not the only place allowed for a
human, but people keep using the world only for their sake. They make a
transparent window because they want to block the noise from the outside, but
never want to abandon their pleasure from nature. In turn, the damage was led
to the birds, who must fly the sky with the blocked path. So we made the
poster to inform people that it is our duty to recognize the current condition
and make a solution to ensure a safe living for them. The poster is talking
about a dead bird who flies the sky freely before he died due to the transparent
window. We'd like to say that it is the result derived from the human. Contrary
to people's belief that a low installation of windows would work, countless
birds are dying in the low soundproof wall. The location of windows often
crosses the habitats of birds, leading to the deaths of migrant birds and resident
birds, as well as endangered species. So it becomes more vital to make an
urgent action not only for animal welfare but also for ecosystem conservation.
Many people and organizations implemented the 'BirdSaver' policy to save the
lives of dying birds. But, the Bird Saver policy failed to prevent collisions
between birds and windows by attaching birds' natural enemies everywhere.
Sparsely attaching stickers such as eagles and hawks that did not live around
birds, they did not feel threatened. In addition, people tried hard to create
eco-corridors, but the effect of several policies was minimal. It's because they
thought only in the eye of people, except in the eye of birds. There are some
practical ways of decreasing the bird's window collision. To be basic, vertical
markings on windows need to be spaced across the entire window. What's more,
we can ensure their safe living by painting small dots with acrylic paint or
making a net. The change lies in our hands so, please try to make a better
place for birds.
