Brief History of Gimhae-Si(Cont’d)

Periodic Ages History

1895 (Revolution of Eulmi Term) Changed as Gimhae-gun
(In the King of the 26rd Gojong in Lee Dynasty Ages)
1906 (The 10th Kwangmoo Term) Daesan-myeon to be separated and to be included to Changwon-gun

August 1910 Daesan-myeon was entered from Yangsan-gun and then the zone of
23 myeon willages to be placed(In the King of the 26rd Gojong in
Lee Dynasty Sges)

March 1. 1914 23 myeon villages were unified and revised as 14 myeon villages)

July 1918 Both of Left and Right Part were unified and corrected as Gimhae-
myeon (13myeon villages)
November 1. 1931 Gimhae-myeon was promoted to Gimhae-eup
(In the rlue of Japanese Imperialism)
March 7. 1933 Constructed Nakdong Great Bridge between Gupo and Gimhae
(In the rlue of Japanese Imperialism)
October 1. 1942 Jinyeong-myeon was promoted to Jinyeong-eup
(2 Eup 11 Myeon Villages)
1942 Established the airfield in Daejeo-Myeon

July 1. 1973 Daejeo-Myeon was promoted to Daejeo-eup(3 Eup 11 Myeon Villages)
(Presidential Decree No. 6543 notified on March 12. 1973)
November 4. 1973 Opened Nam Hae High Way(Length 28.5Km)

April 20. 1976 Established 3 Business Offices in Gimhae-eup
(Gimhae-gun Regulation No. 340)
February 15. 1978 Daejeo-eup, Myungji-myeon and Garak-myeon(Nakdong Zone)were
included to Buk-gu, Pusan, Korea(2 Eup 9 Myeon Villages)
June 29. 1978 Moved the Gun County Office( #61-1, Buwon-dong, Gimhae-eup)

May 1. 1979 Established the Northern Office of Gimhae-eup

July 1. 1981 Gimhae-eup was promoted to Gimhae_Si(Law No. 3425)

May 11. 1984 Moved the Office of City (11B, Buwon-dong, Gimhae-si)
1 room, 9 sections, 10 Dong Villages
May 10. 1995 Gimhae-si and Gimhae-gun were Established as city & Agriculture
Multi-typed City(Law 4948)
September 12. 1998 Chilsan-dong and Seobu-dong were unified as Chilsanseobu-dong
(gimhae City regulations No. 238)

July 1. 2013 Jangyu-myeon were divided into Jangyu 1-dong, Jangyu 2-dong,
Jangyu 3-dong.
