Cancer chemotherapy can induce senescent tumor cells in various cancers. Senescent tumor cells show the
decreasing of cells proliferation, however, these cells are metabolically active, which can affect other cells around

them. However, studies on therapy induced senescent tumor cells are still insufficient. In this study, we studied how
senescent tumor cells which was induced by chemotherapy affect surrounding tumor cells. It was observed that

senescent tumor cells have different properties depending on the degree of senescence. We divided therapy
induced senescent tumor cells as 4 grades dependent on the degree of C12FDG staining (C12FDG Low, Med,

Medhigh, High). Low grade senescent tumor cells show high expression of stem cells related gene expression
(Oct3/4, Sox2, Nanog), and high grade senescent tumor cells are observed to have high expression of IL-6, IL-8,

which can proliferate surrounding cells. These results are thought to be an important study to inform patients of
the risk of senescent tumor cells that may occur during cancer chemotherapy.
