                                                                 Tidy room equals tidy mind – or so we were told growing up,
                                                                 as our parents gingerly navigated our bombsite bedrooms and
                                                                 wondered how on earth we contemplated algebra homework
                                                                 in such surroundings. Whether their logic was sound or just a
                                                                 desperate attempt to uncover the long-lost carpet, the question
                                                                 remains: what brilliant calculations might we have come up with
                                                                 on an artful new desk such as this?
                                                                    Angus Ross, who made it, operates from a studio workshop
                                                                 in Aberfeldy. He treats wood as if it were warm plastic, bending,
                                                                 moulding and folding the timber to create furniture and what
                                                                 he calls ‘functional public art’. It has led to a rich and varied
                                                                 portfolio that encompasses seating, tables, storage and garden
