THE BILLIARD TABLE is a stubborn sort of piece. Whether loitering at
the back of rough-and-ready pool clubs, witnessing drunken posturing,
and soaking up spills, or lost under piles of laundry in a neglected games
room, the design is always largely the same: chunky legs, net pockets
and emerald baize. While interiors changed around it, the billiard table
remained frozen in time – until now. Teckell’s transparent take, the T1,
designed by Marc Sadler, would surely top the wish list at every bachleor
pad in town. The old shape has given way to fluid, futuristic lines, while
the table itself is built using crystal, marble and leather. Matching extras
– cue racks, ceiling lamps and, of course, the triangle – are made from
tempered glass. It’s not the only games room staple to be given a luxe
makeover, either – a crystal-and-aluminum foosball table is also in the
portfolio. While we can’t promise that the snooker skills of Mark Selby
come as part of the package, you might need his winnings to claim the
T1 for your own. But what’s £30,000 among friends? Chalk up your cue:
