STUDIO 1750 (Young Hyun Kim, Jin Hee Son) is a project group whose policy of not limiting
themselves in terms of materials or venues fuels imaginative artworks that are imbued with a
curiosity about our daily lives. Their creations usually deal with cultural hybrids or modified
everyday objects as a means of posing questions that range from rather trivial matters to our
inability to know the future. Switch molds colorful PVC vinyl printed with interesting designs
into unique, maze-like formations to give one the feeling of having stepped into a fantasy world.
Depending on the visitor’s movements, a “wall” can suddenly change into an entrance. The
diverse sensory experiences gained inside the maze lead visitors to, while distanced from reality,
undergo an emotional shift.
